The Key to Success is Planning
Posted by Webmaster on Thursday 05th January 2012
Your almost a week into January and you should be thinking of every possible method of making your business a success this year. With your resolutions set it is important to plan how you are going to make them happen and keep people coming through the door. The most effective way to do this is to create a 'Future Business Plan', by evaluating your current business situation to identify the following:
- Short comings in the booking, arrival and departure procedure
- Departmental over staffing
- Finance, cost control and operational improvement systems
- Poor customer service
- Short comings in billing procedures i.e. till shortages & pilferages
- Poor customer service through telephone and website response systems
- Potential opportunities whereby the customers overall experience can be improved
- Up selling opportunities
- Service and product imperfections
- Nonprofit making areas within the operation
- Value for money in terms of guest expectation
- New customer bases
- Competition and ways to attract their custom
- Recommended training programmes
- General aesthetics – ways to improve the customer experience – maintenance issues
Based on your findings, you should then create a plan of action for each point in order to improve, tackle or if successful maintain the operation.
Success wont just come to you, you have to find it and work for it. The best way to do this is to identify your weaknesses and tackle them immediately.
